Ogden girls hold off W-G

WOODWARD — Visiting Ogden capitalized on a 16-5 run through the second quarter to post a 42-33 win over Woodward-Granger in girls WCAC cage play Tuesday.

The Bulldogs (2-5, 2-3) held only an 8-5 lead after a slow-paced first quarter, but managed to open a 24-10 lead at the half. The host Hawks (2-5, 0-4) took three points off their deficit in the third frame to trail, 29-18, with one quarter to play, but were unable to complete the comeback.

Kayley Dresback led W-G with 16 points, with Mae Anderson, Katelyn Scharlau and Lisa Pitman adding four points apiece. Three points from Alyssa Bice and two from Natalie Helbling capped the Hawk scoring.

Abby Langel had 14 points for Ogden, with nine points coming from Gabby Ross and seven apiece from Ashton Boggess and Meredith Adreon. Two points from Faith Mohr and Danali Loecker and an Abbi Lentz free throw accounted for the Bulldog offense. Ross finished with 10 rebounds and Boggess with nine.

W-G visits Madrid Friday before hosting Panorama Tuesday in their final contest before the holiday break.
