Perry fell to host Ogden Friday in their second outing of the football season.

New Perry varsity wrestling head coach Chris Dardanes will be leading a stellar staff in conducting an overnight youth grappling camp Aug. 2-3.

The camp will feature sessions for students who will be in grades 2-8 and also those in 9-12, with a limit of 50 entrants for each age group.

Registration for the camp is now open. Cost is $160 per camper and includes all meals and overnight expenses. Discounts will be offered for additional wrestlers from the same family and walk-ins are welcome.

Dardanes was a three-time NCAA All-American at the University of Minnesota. He will be assisted at the camp by two-time All-American and Drew Foster, a former national champion at Northern Iowa. Also helping will be South Dakota State University All-American Luke Zilverberg and former University of Iowa standout Pablo Ubasa.

Camp will begin Aug. 2 at the new Perry wrestling facility at PHS, with wrestlers driven by shuttle bus to the Chicken Shack for a meal and overnight stay. There will be a Fireside Chat and Life Skills discussion/events with Dardanes, Zilverberg, and Foster at the overnight.

Day 1 will focus on hand fighting, ties and set-ups, as well as takedowns and live wrestling. Day 2 will feature instruction on bottom, tops/tilts/pinning, and a live showcase. All sessions will consist of drilling the position plus live goes.

Parents are welcome to attend the final session.

Payments can be sent to Perry Wrestling Camps, 1724 Paul St., Perry, Iowa 50220.
