Panorama baseball divides two conference games

OGDEN — A walk-off base hit in the seventh inning carried Ogden to a 4-3 win over visiting Panorama in WCAC baseball Tuesday. Panorama was coming off a 12-2 whitewashing of AC/GC in five innings Monday.

Panorama (10-8, 10-7) had a 2-0 lead at Ogden (15-9, 13-5) when the Bulldogs scored three times in the bottom of the second to grab a 3-2 edge. The Panthers knotted the score with a run in their ensuing at-bat, only to have a Dylan Elbert single drive in the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.

Jacob Craven allowed three runs (two hits) on seven hits and four walks in seven innings on the rubber for Ogden. He struck out six in claiming the win.

Kayden Kruse paced the Bulldog attack with two triples and two runs driven home.

Dominic Walker yielded three runs on five hits and four walks in four frames for Panorama. Drew Taylor threw 2-1/3 innings, allowing a run on two walks, with Koltin Sloss walking three and retiring one in suffering the loss. Walker and Taylor each finished with three strikeouts.

Sloss had a single, a double and drew two walks while scoring once, with Walker adding a single, a double and a RBI.

The Panthers were nowhere near as challenged Monday as they rolled to a 12-2 win over the Chargers (2-20, 1-18).

Brice Taylor allowed two runs and three hits in three innings. He walked two batters and struck out five, with Hunter Holmes yielding four hits and a walk in two innings on the bump. Holmes finished with two strikeouts.

Evan Taylor hit a solo home run, with Malachi Peasley hitting a triple while Levi Richey and Walker both hit doubles. Peasley and Richery each had two RBIs while Walker drove in one run and Brice Taylor walked three times.

Panorama visits West Central Valley Tuesday before traveling to Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton July 5.
