Panorama boys take their swings in competitive field at Kuemper Invite

CARROLL — A total of 13 teams, 12 of them ranked, created the field Saturday for the 18-hole Kuemper Catholic Boys Invitational. Panorama and two other top 25 ranked teams were in action, as were one 1A team and nine 3A clubs, rated from first (Spencer) to 16th.

Host Kuemper Catholic was the overall victor with a 305. Spencer was second at 311, Spirit Lake third at 314 and Carroll third a 323 with Humboldt fifth at 324. Webster City (328), Atlantic (329), Panorama (334), Denison-Schleswig (346), Fort Dodge St. Edmond (360), ADM (362), OABCIG (370) and Storm Lake (418) completed the list of competitors.

Kuemper’s Cole Collison was the meet medalist, with Panorama junior Kolby Shackelford the runner-up medalist with a 73.

Ryan Klinge and Wyatt Appleseth also scored for the Panthers, with each shooting rounds of 84. Lucas Leiferman’s 93 completed the list of scoring cards for Panorama.

Seniors Trey Cobb and Dylan Douglass were in Chicago on their senior class trip, with their slots taken by Evan Taylor (93) and Connor Powell (104), neither card of which was used for the team total.

Panorama will host a 2A Sectional at LPN Friday, with the District Tournament scheduled for May 17 at the Carroll Country Club.
