PLEASANTVILLE — The Panorama boys improved to 3-0 on the young season while the Panther girls grabbed their first win of the year in a WCAC set at Pleasantville Monday.

The Panther boys (3-0, 2-0) were in control from the start in claiming an 88-74 victory while Panorama (1-2, 1-1) also found the sledding easy in downing Pleasantville (4-1, 0-1), 63-38, in the girls game.

The boys game started with a bang for the visitors, who roared to a 25-7 lead after just eight minutes. By the half the margin stood at 45-28, severely limiting any chance of the hosts to close in. Panorama blistered the nets, sinking 16-of-28 two-point field goals and 10-of-22 beyond the 3-point arc while shooting 26-of-35 at the foul line.

Zach Rizzuti had four 3-pointers for Panorama, with Jared Wasson and Dominic Walker each hitting two treys while Malachi Peasley and Kolby Shackelford each added a triple.

The Panthers led, 18-4, after one quarter, then went on a 26-5 run in the second quarter to enter the half leading 44-9. A continuous clock was started when the third quarter began, with the frame ending, 58-24, in favor of the guests.

Anna Holloway and Poldberg had 14 points each, with Beckman tallying 12 points and Shey Storesund seven. Ella Waddle contributed six points, Laci Rishel five, Abbi Holloway three and Gabby Welberg two to cap the scoring list.

The team had 18 steals, with Poldberg making six thefts and Beckman and Waddle four apiece. Poldberg had eight rebounds and four assists and Waddle five boards and four assists.
