Panorama divides pair of close outcomes in league softball

PANORA — Panorama rallied from a 3-0 deficit to score a 4-3 win over visiting Ogden in WCAC softball Tuesday. The win came on the heels of a wild 14-12 loss at home Monday to AC/GC.

The Panthers (10-16, 6-12) scored three times in the bottom of the fourth to tie Tuesday’s outing, with a single run from the hosts in the fifth deciding the issue.

Grace Richey surrendered three runs (two earned) on six hits in seven innings. She struck out three in the victory.

Jaidyn Sellers yanked a home run for the Panthers, with Claire Woodworth and Jazmyn Sellers each hitting two singles. Shey Storesund, Zoey Hambleton, and Lindy Nelson also had base hits for the home team.

AC/GC (15-13, 10-10) led, 4-3, after three innings in Monday’s high-scoring affair. The Panthers moved into a 9-8 lead after the completion of six innings, with the Chargers scoring six times in the top of the seventh to move into a 14-9 lead. Panorama closed to within 14-12 with three tallies in their final at-bat but could not complete the rally.

Richey threw 6-1/3 frames, allowing 13 runs (nine earned) on 14 hits. She struck out four, walked two and hit two batters with pitches. Tyme Boettcher retired two batters, allowing a run on two hits.

Jaidyn Sellers hit a home run and a single and drove in four runs, with Storesund also hitting one over the outfield fence. Woodworth and Arilyan Steenblock and two singles apiece, Nelson, Hambleton, and Jazmyn Sellers a double and a single each, and Boettcher and Caitlyn Sloss a single apiece.
