PANORA — Class 2A No. 9 Panorama raced to a 24-11 halftime lead en route to a 48-29 win over WCAC for Woodward-Granger in girls hoops action Friday.

The Panthers (2-0, 1-0) created extra breathing room by outscoring the Hawks (0-3, 0-1) 16-2 in the third quarter, widening the gap on the scoreboard to 40-13.

W-G continued to play hard down the stretch, scoring 16 fourth-quarter points, but it was far too late to close the large deficit.

Kayley Dresback led W-G with 12 points, with Emma Anderson scoring eight points, Mae Anderson and Katelyn Scharlau four apiece and Natalie Helbling one.

Bailey Beckman had 15 points and Morgan Johnk 11 to pace Panorama. Anna Holloway and Ella Waddle had five points apiece and Payton Beckman and Vallerie Storesund four each while Shey Storesund added two points. Free throws from Angel Poldberg and Laci Rishel closed the scoring for the hosts.

Panorama hosts Pleasantville Tuesday and visits Madrid Friday while W-G will entertain Earlham Tuesday and West Central Valley Friday.
