OGDEN — Don Williams Golf Course was the site Monday for a coed meet featuring Panorama and host Ogden, with the Madrid boys and short-handed Madrid girls also in action.

Panorama won the boys meet with a 169, with Ogden second at 176 and Madrid at 206. Ogden was a 211-237 winner over Panorama on the girls side, with Madrid not having enough players to create an official team score.

Kolby Shackelford’s 37 for Panorama was the boys medalist score, with Madrid’s Jacob Meeker the runner-up with a 41.

Wyatt Appleseth (42), Dylan Douglass (43) and Levi Leiferman (45) also scored for the victorious Panthers, with Jacob Iseminger (47) and Ryan Klinge (50) having their scores discarded.

Ryan Nichols (42), Seth Bishop (44), Jacob Kathman (45) and Preston Gronseth (45) scored for Ogden, with Jacob Hildreth (46) and Jade Thompson (46) also in action.

Meeker’s 41 led Madrid, which also counted cards from Tyler Lawrenson (47), Jacob Loew (56) and Zane Williams (58). Trent Larsen (62) and Landen Klatt (62) competed for the Tigers as well.

The Panorama girls played with a revamped lineup Monday as three varsity starters were missing.

“Anna Duis had an off day,” Panther girls head coach Melissa Hochstetler said. “She is usually pretty steady, but it felt like every bad situation that could happen in a game of golf came after her today, but she handled it with her usual grace.

“Lauren (McClatchey) and Abby (Cobb) both turned in some really respectable scores,” she added. “Abby shows a lot of promise as a freshman, we are really excited to see how she does in the future.”

McClatchey had a 53, Cobb a 54 and Duis a 61, with Alex Kurtz — thrust into a varsity role — finished with a 69.

“Alex had a tough time today,” Hochstetler said. “She is usually pretty competitive, so it was not business as usual for her or Anna.”

Maranda Wheelock and Ashton Boggess claimed the medalist spots for Ogden, with Faith Mohr and Shaylie Johnannsen both shooting 57 to also score. Kayla Walker’s 59 and a 75 from Emma Blair were discarded.

Madrid had three golfers in action, with Sydney Wiese carding a 58. Callie Evans had a 61 for the Tigers and Mallorie Smith a 72.
