WOODWARD — The Woodward Golf Course was the site Thursday for a WCAC coed triangular featuring host W-G, AC/GC and Panorama.

Panorama won the boys meet with a 165, with W-G shooting 181 and AC/GC 234. A 218 carried the Panorama girls to victory, with W-G carding a 247 while AC/GC had only three players and thus did not create a team score.

Kolby Shackelford won boys medalist honors for Panorama with a one-over par 36, with Panther teammate Jacob Iseminger the runner-up medalist with a 42. Trey Cobb shot a 43 and Dylan Douglass a 44 to score for Panorama as well, with rounds of 45 from Ryan Klinge and of 46 from Wyatt Appleseth not used for the team total.

Nick Brummond led W-G with a 43, with Max Helbling carding a 45, Matt Buch a 46 and Coby Peters a 47. Also playing for the Hawks were Hunter Pierce (55) and Trey Lettow (61).

McKlain Jorgensen (56), Nolan Wheatley (59) and Seth Danker (59) scored for AC/GC, with the Chargers also counting a round of 60, with Eli Kading and Austin Hall each shooting the same score. Spencer Grove (62) made the circuit as well.

Panorama’s Anna Duis (51) and Jordan Douglass (53) were medalist and runner-up medalist on the girls side. Lauren McClatchey (54) and Cierra Wright (60) also scored for the Panthers, with Abby Cobb (63) and Madi Fear (65) also in action.

Panther girls head coach Melissa Hochstetler was pleased simply to have the chance to play a competitive round.

“The bad weather has made it so it is hard to practice daily,” she said. “The girls this year have been working really hard and they have set some goals that I believe they will be able to achieve.

Hochstetler noted the play of freshmen Douglass and Cobb, both of who were playing in their first varsity action, as well as junior Wright, playing in her first meet as a Panther. She saluted senior Duis for overcoming a rocky start and said McClatchey had proven “solid and consistent.”

Fear, a senior, had what Hochsteler called “a difficult day” but the coach said she expected Fear to “have some amazing scores this year, as she has shown in practice that she is capable of scoring well.”

Cierra DeHoet was the low scorer for the W-G girls with a round of 58. Aubrey Mescher provided a round of 60, Emily Trewet a card of 64 and Emma Greiner a score of 65. Megan Burkhart (76) and Bailey Thompson (83) were both in action for the hosts as well.

AC/GC had three girls in action, with Kena Baier’s 57 the team low. Haley Sheeder had a 66 and Sally Jo Geckler an 86 for the Chargers.
