Panorama hardballers handle DMC

PANORA — Strong pitching and timely hitting make for a delightful combination, and host Panorama was able to enjoy the benefits of both in claiming a 6-2 win Thursday over Des Moines Christian in WCAC baseball.

Drew Taylor allowed two runs (one earned) while scattering four hits over 5-1/3 innings on the mound to earn the win for Panorama (2-1). Brice Taylor tossed 1-2/3 frames in relief. He struck out two, walked two and hit one, while Drew Taylor walked just one while striking out eight.

Evan Taylor had a double, single, RBI and run scored, with Luke South adding two singles. Drew Taylor doubled, was hit by a pitch and scored, Brice Taylor had a run, a double and a base hit and Dominic Walker had a single, two sacrifices, a run and a RBI.

Malachi Peasley aided the cause with a hit and by drawing three walks and scoring twice, with Jack Weinkoetz producing a RBI single.

Panorama scored single runs in the first, second and fourth innings, then moved to a 6-0 lead with three tallies in the fifth. DMC scored their two runs in the top of the sixth.

Ben Leusink doubled for DMC, with Colby Shelton recording two hits and scoring once. Kole Bradley had a single, with Adam Witty crossing the plate.

Panorama is at Madrid Monday, Saydel Tuesday and Earlham Thursday before hosting Van Meter June 26.
