Panorama matmen win two of three Thursday

GOWRIE — The Panorama wrestlers were denied a 3-0 Thursday when host Southeast Valley slipped away with a 39-30 win in quadrangular action. The setback came after Panorama had dispatched WCAC foes AC/GC, 50-15, and Ogden, 54-18.

Ogden was a 42-39 winner over AC/GC, with the hosts topping both AC/GC, 66-12, and Ogden, 54-20, in the other matches.

The Panthers did not contest the 106, 113, 126 or 132 pound weight classes in any of their matches.

Logan Christe continued his strong season with three wins at 120. He won by pin fall, by a 12-0 major decision and by a 4-1 decision. Emry Colby continued to impress as well at 145 with a 15-2 major decision, a 15-0 tech fall and a pin to also finish 3-0.

Cooper Anderson stepped onto the mat at 195 pounds and recorded a two pins, with Wyatt Appleseth 3-0 (twice at 160 and once at 152) with a trio of forfeits.

Kael Wirt had two pins in his two matches at 152, with Landon Goodenberger 2-1 with a pin at 170 and a forfeit at 160. Luke South had a pin at 182 and a forfeit at 170 to post a 2-1 mark, with Keyton Van Gundy receiving a forfeit at 195 and at 220, with Panorama leaving 220 open against Ogden.

Also in action for the Panthers was heavyweight James Hein, for was 2-1 with a pin in 33 seconds against Ogden after a forfeit from AC/GC.

Panorama will host the WCAC Tournament Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.
