The Panorama Panthers traveled to Greenfield Thursday night to face the Wolverines of Nodaway Valley High School, and the Panther girls and boys teams both won.

Panorama’s West Central Conference rank is number 2, and Nodaway Valley’s is number 8, so it was sure to be a good match up. The girls came away with the win, 56-43.

“Defensively, we were able to set the tempo early,” said Coach Boettcher. “We battled their runs and came out with runs of our own.”

Tyme Boettcher led Panther scoring with 23 points. She also pulled down 11 rebounds and had 6 assists. Jaidyn Sellers added 9 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists. Mia Waddle added 5 rebounds and 3 assists, and Zoey Hambleton scored 9 points.

Kaitlin Kent was named Player of the Game.

Coach Boettcher said Kent was chosen “not because of her stat line but because of her competitive fire and grit.”

The Panthers are now 11-0 overall and maintaining their intensity and love for the game as the second half of the season begins. Their next game was to be Friday night at home against Van Meter, but winter weather has forced its postponement.

The Panther boys were also winners in Greenfield Thursday night, coming out hot and running to an 84-60 win.

The stat sheet was not the usual three players with high points, rebounds and assists. It was spread out amongst the whole Panthers bench.

The Panther boys are now 8-4 overall. They were scheduled to play Van Meter at home Friday, but the snow storm caused a postponement. The game will be made up at a later date.
