Panorama passes I-35 to open net season with win

TRURO — A totally revamped lineup carried second-year head coach Jessica Nail’s Panorama volleyball team to a season-opening win at Interstate-35 Tuesday.

The Panthers won the first game, 25-23, but suffered a 25-20 loss in game two. The guests rallied for wins of 25-22 and 25-21 to claim the WCAC duel.

Jodan Douglass had 12 kills and Maggie Woodvine 10 to lead Panorama, with Shey Storesund adding seven kills, Lindsey VanGundy and Emma Powell four apiece, Grace Richey two and Audrey Cmelik one.

Powell had 24 assists and VanGundy 19 with three digs while Paige Cmelik had seven assists and four digs. Douglass provided seven digs and Woodvine four, with Storesund making eight total blocks, Richey four and Audrey Cmelik three.

Serving statistics were not complete, but Douglass was listed as 9-of-14 with one ace and Woodvine 12-15-2, with Storesund 10-14-2 and Audrey Cmelik 10-11-2.

Panorama hosts Earlham tonight before visiting Ogden Tuesday and then playing in the Coon Rapids-Bayard tourney Sept. 7.
