DES MOINES — All three days of the upcoming Drake Relays will witness thinclads from Panorama competing in a variety of all-class prep events.

Gracen Welberg is the lone Panther boy to qualify and will compete in the high jump competition Thursday. He will be joined Thursday by teammate Morgan Johnk, who is a returning qualifier in the event and who will compete for the University of Northern Iowa.

School record holder Bailey Beckman will fly in the long jump competition Thursday, with Lydia Knapp — who reset the school mark last week — spinning the discus Friday.

Also in action Friday will be Johnk in the 100 hurdles. She was second in the 2A state meet last spring in the race.

Two relays will attempt to advance from Saturday’s early qualifying heats into the finals in both the shuttle hurdle and 4×100.

Johnk, Shey Storesund, Abbi Brown and Payton Douglass will run the former and Johnk, Beckman, Hope Arganbright and Kassidy Bremer the latter. Knapp is an alternate for both relays, with Storesund an alternate for the 4×100 and Lydia Lindstrom an alternate for the shuttle hurdle.
