PANORA — The 11th-ranked Panorama girls twice rallied to tie Friday’s match with visiting Underwood before scoring a 3-2 win in overtime, with the Panther boys scoring in the waning minutes to claim a 2-1 victory over the Eagles in the nightcap.

Panorama was playing without seniors, all of who were on their class trip to Chicago.

Underwood (3-7) gave the hosts all they could handle in the opener, opening a 1-0 lead before Ella Waddle tied the game, where it remained until the intermission. The Eagles grabbed a 2-1 lead after the break, but Waddle responded with her 16th goal of the season to force overtime.

Panorama (7-1) prevailed when Laci Rishel rippled the net in the extra frame. The goal was the eighth of the season for Rishel.

There was plenty of drama in the boys match as well, with the Eagles tying the score at 1-all midway through the second half after Panther freshman Mitchell Dickson had given the hosts a 1-0 advantage at the break.

Dickson provided the game-winner by scoring off a free kick with just over four minutes remaining in regulation.

Both Panorama teams will travel to Nodaway Valley today before hosting Collins-Maxwell for a coed twin billing Friday.
