AUDUBON — A strong season kept rolling along for the Panorama girls thinclads Tuesday, with the Panther boys starting to step up their level of effectiveness, especially with the return to two key pieces who appeared for the first time this season.

The Wheeler Coed Relays featured Iowa Track Coaches Association squads that were highly ranked in the power ratings, particularly on the girls side. Eighth-ranked Underwood and 14th-rated Treynor opted not to run with their main lineups, and when No. 3 Panorama did, the Panthers overwhelmed the field.

Panorama swept up 190 points, with Treynor second at 102 and Underwood third at 73 in the 11-team field. Underwood (106), Treynor (103), and IKM-Manning (81) were the top three boys teams, with Panorama fourth at 74.

The Panther girls won the 4×100, 4×400, 4×800, distance medley and shuttle relays while finishing second in the 4×200 and sprint medley.

Morgan Johnk set a new meet record while winning the 100 hurdles in 15.75 seconds, with Devyn Kemble winning the 400 in 1 minute, 1.72 seconds while Gwen Steffen claimed the 800 in 2:34.91, and Ella Waddle the 1500 in 5:20.06.

Lydia Knapp’s spin of 116 feet, 5 inches won the discus, with Bailey Beckman winning the long jump at 16’4-1/2.

The return to the lineup of Michael Allen and Emry Colby helped the Panther boys use increased depth to score in most events.

Spencer Hunt won the 200 in 23.34 ticks and the 400 in 53.76 seconds, with Allen, Hunt, Gracen Welberg and Tanner Godfrey first, in 1:39.71, in the sprint medley.

Full results from the meet show the strong outings of both teams.

The Panorama boys will be in action Thursday at the AC/GC Invitational.
