Panorama wrestlers win two of three Thursday

PANORA — The first portion of the wrestling season for the Panorama grapplers ended on their own mats Thursday as the Panthers hosted Mount Ayr, Saydel and Wayne for a triangular.

Wayne topped the hosts, 48-29, but Panorama was a 48-28 winner over Mount Ayr and a 60-6 victor against Saydel. Mount Ayr defeated Saydel, 42-18, while falling to Wayne, 55-30, with Wayne whipping Saydel 60-15.

Wyatt Appleseth was 3-0 at 145 pounds with a pin, a technical fall and a forfeit, with two pins and forfeit helping Noah Kirtley finish 3-0 at 152 while Hunter Holmes was 3-0 at 285 with one pin and two forfeits.

Garret Fox was also 3-0, with a forfeit and a pin at 170 and a pin at 182, with Cooper Anderson 2-0 with a forfeit at 170 and another at 182.

Two forfeits made James Hein 2-1 at 195, with 160-pounder Emry Colby 2-0 with a pin and a forfeit while Logan Christie was 2-1 with a pair of forfeits at 113 pounds.

Ryan Fees was 1-1 with a pin at 138, with Jacob Holwegner receiving a forfeit at 138. JOsh Van Winkle lost his only match at 132 but finished 1-1 with a forfeit at 126. The Panthers left 126 open once and 132 open once.

Panorama did not compete at 106, 120 or 220 pounds.

Panorama returns to action Jan. 5 when they will compete in the Coon Rapids-Bayard Invitational.
