PANORA — A trip to Tuesday’s Class 2A District 15 Finals was secured Thursday by the Panorama boys cagers after the Panther whipped visiting AC/GC, 69-46.

Panorama (16-6) will play Kuemper Catholic (8-14) at 7 p.m. in Harlan Tuesday. Kuemper advanced by upsetting AHSTW (17-5), 73-69, Thursday. The winner will play in the Substate 8 Final at Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln at 7 p.m. Feb. 29. Treynor (22-1) and Tri-Center (18-4) will square off Monday for the D16 title.

The Panthers held only an 18-16 lead over the Chargers (10-13) after one quarter of play Thursday. An 18-9 second quarter created a 36-25 halftime lead, with a 19-8 third frame opening a 55-33 bulge as the fourth frame began.

Malachi Peasley had 25 points to lead Panorama, with Kolby Shackelford scoring nine points and Dominic Walker and Michael Allen eight points apiece. Zach Rizzuti had seven points, Evan Taylor six, Lucas Leiferman four and Jared Wasson two for the hosts.

Allen had 11 rebounds and Peasley and Rizzuti six boards apiece while Peasley also finished with six assists.
