PANORA — Panorama recorded a pair of WCAC wins over visiting AC/GC Thursday to complete a season sweep for both Panther squads, doing so in nearly identical fashion to the two wins in Guthrie Center Dec. 14.

In the first meeting between the two old rivals Panorama was a 68-30 win in the girls game and a 62-48 victor in the boys meeting. Thursday’s results were nearly spot-on, with the Panthers winning the girls bout, 68-27, while the boys scrap ended in a 60-38 Panorama win.

Eighth-ranked Panorama (13-1, 10-1) raced to a 30-11 lead after only eight minutes of action in the opener. By the time halftime was reached the margin had swelled to 45-21, with a 17-4 bulge in the third quarter moving the score to 62-25 with one frame remaining.

Morgan Johnk poured in 19 points for the hosts, with Bailey Beckman adding 18 points and Payton Beckman 14. Lydia Knapp and Vallerie Storesund provided six points apiece, with Anna Holloway scoring three points and Ella Waddle two.

Johnk pulled down nine rebounds and Knapp seven, with Johnk, Holloway, Waddle and Bailey Beckman each recording three assists while Bailey Beckman made three steals.

Brooke Halterman did not score but made her presence felt with five steals, four assists and four blocked shots for the home team.

Chloe Largent led AC/GC (8-8, 6-6) with eight points, six caroms and two blocks. Savana Fuller and Kylie Young had five points apiece, with Kennedy Young scoring three points. Jorja Hoover, Lauryn Embleton and Sierra O’Brien each had two points for the guests.

The Panther boys (6-8, 5-7) fell into a seven-point hole in the first meeting between the rivals before blowing open the game with a strong third period, and while the final score was nearly identical in the rematch, the thread of the game was quite different.

AC/GC (4-11, 2-10) scored 32 points after the intermission, but had only 16 before the break to being handed the loss. Panorama led, 24-16, at the break, and slightly outmatched their guests in quarters three and four to slowly widen the gap and secure the victory, matching their win total from last season.

Zach Rizzuti led all scorers with 21 points for the hosts, with Kolby Shackelford 13 points. Gracen Welberg had eight points, Lucas Leiferman six, Malachi Peasley four, Jack Weinkoetz three, Evan Taylor and Dominic Walker two apiece and Trey Cobb one.

Rizzuti had eight rebounds and four steals, with Cobb clearing five boards while Peasley had six assists and Welberg four. Schackelford hit three 3-pointers, Rizzuti two and Peasley one.

Quynton Younker and Eli Kading led AC/GC with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Bryce Littler had eight points and Lucas Marsh six for the Chargers, with Noah Nelson four, Noah Sargent three and Will Byars two.

Panorama has a rare Tuesday off and will resume action Friday with a visit from Earlham.
