HUXLEY — The Class 1A 10th-ranked Panorama girls soccer team went on the road for the first time this season Tuesday with a visit to Ballard.

While being the visitor on the scoreboard was a first this spring for the Panthers, the results were old hat — a fifth consecutive victory. That the opposition failed to score was also a repetition, as Panorama’s 1-0 win gave the Panthers a 39-0 scoring edge this season.

Ballard (2-4-1) played a physical game, but Panorama (5-0) was up to the challenge, goalie Ashley Clark recording her fifth shutout of 2019.

Sophomore Ella Waddle provided the only goal of the contest by finding the back of the net with just over 13 minutes remaining in the first half.

Waddle had a penalty kick late in the game erased when a Panther player was ruled to have left her line (moved forward) before the ball was kicked.

The Panthers scored 32 times last season (the first in school history) before being scored upon, but then yielded a 7-0 loss to Southeast Polk and of 11-1 to Treynor. Panorama does not play the Rams this year, but will visit seventh-ranked Treynor (5-2) today.

The match will be a coed twin bill, with both Panorama teams to compete in the West Central Valley tournament Saturday.
