Panther girls first, boys second at WCV golf meet

MENLO — West Central Valley hosted Des Moines Christian and Panorama at the 5×80 Golf Course Tuesday for a WCAC coed triangular.

Panorama claimed a 198-202 win over DMC in the girls meet, with host WCV not having the four players necessary to record an official team score. DMC shot a 151 to easily win the boys side, with Panorama carding a combined 170 and WCV a 185.

Madi Fear led the Panther girls with her medalist round of 48, with teammate Lauren McClatchey and DMC’s CeCe Sturdivant tying for runner-up with rounds of 49. Anna Duis had a 50 for Panorama, with Jordan Douglass adding a 51. Rounds of 55 from Abby Cobb and of 59 from Chloe Webster were not used for the Panther team total.

Joining Studivant in scoring for DMC were Ashley Kimani (50), Ana Swaim (51) and either Claire Stromley (52) or Callie Fish (52). Mwihaki Njoroge (58) also played for the Lions.

Darby Davis (53), Jaicee Wathne (55) and Emma Johnson (72) played the circuit for the hosts.

Drew Shisler fired a medalist-winning 36 to lead DMC, with Nate Juffer shooting a runner-up 37, the same score provided by Panorama’s Kolby Shackelford. Tommy Weissenburger had a 38 and Grant Christy a 40 for DMC, with Matt Wynne (42) and Nick Nelson (51) also competing.

Jacob Iseminger (43), Ryan Klinge (45), and Wyatt Appleseth (45) joined Shackelford in scoring for Panorama. Dylan Douglass (46) and Trey Cobb (47) did not have their scores counted.

Grant Caltrider (40), Garret Caltrider (46), Evan Taylor (48) and Tony Jones (51) had the four lowest rounds for WCV. The Wildcats did not use scores of 52 from Devan Jones or of 54 from Cole Arnburg.
