MOUNT AYR — The first of two sections of the annual Panorama Rally Run was held Saturday, as members of both Panther cross country teams began running the game ball for Friday’s Homecoming game from Mount Ayr to Panora.

Runners took turns carrying the pigskin from Raider Stadium in Mount Ayr to a pre-designated spot just north of Creston, 42 miles distant. They will return to the spot Friday and finish the final 38 miles before presenting the ball to officials just before kickoff at 7 p.m.

The game figures to be a true test for each squad, as both teams enter with unblemished 5-0 records, each a winner in their first district game last Friday.
