Panther matmen collect pair of wins

PANORA — The Panorama wrestlers successfully defended their home mats twice Saturday, defeating Mt. Ayr, 48-33, and Ogden, 45-30, in a weekend triangular. Mt. Ayr topped Ogden, 39-24, in the other dual.

Emry Colby was the lone Panthers to win twice without one victory being a forfeit. He scored a pin at 152 pounds against Mt. Ayr and a 19-2 technical fall, in five minutes, 21 seconds, at 145 against Ogden.

Wyatt Appleseth had a forfeit at 160 and a pin at 152 against Ogden, with heavyweight James Hein having a forfeit at 285 and a pin at 220 while Landon Goodenberger had a pin at 170 before a forfeit at 160. Cooper Anderson won once by pin, at 182, after being given a forfeit at 195.

Dillon Bennett was 1-1 with a pin at 182 against Mt. Ayr, with Kayton Van Gundy 1-1 with a forfeit at 195 against Ogden.

Kael Wirt (145) won his lone dual by forfeit, with Brayden Hoffman (132) winning by pin at 132 against Mt. Ayr in his only match. Ryan Fees (138) was 1-1 with a forfeit, with Logan Christe (120) scoring a 10-0 major decision against Ogden after dropping a decision to Mt. Ayr.

Panorama left 106, 113 and 126 open against both opponents.

The Panthers return to action Saturday when they participate in the Coon Rapids-Bayard Invite.
