Panther volleyball splits first two matches

A total of seven harriers competed for Panorama at the Colfax-Mingo Invite Thursday.

PANORA — Panorama began their volleyball season with a 3-0 win at Interstate-35 Aug. 24, followed by a 3-0 setback to visiting Earlham two days later.

The Panthers were 25-20, 25-22, and 25-21 victors in their opener over the Roadrunners before dropping games of 25-22, 25-12, and 25-18 to the visiting Cardinals Thursday.

Jaidyn Sellers had a combined 11 kills and seven digs in the two matches, with Grace Webner adding six kills and 13 digs and Angel Poldberg four kills and one dig. Tyme Boettchers had four kills and nine digs, Jasmarie Flannery two kilsl and three digs and Keira Simmons one kill while Jazmyn Sellers provided 14 digs and Mollie Monthei provided eight.

Monthei led the team with 24 assists in their opening matches, with Boettcher and Flannery each having one assist.

Webner was 17-of-26 serving with two aces, with Monthei 17-25-2 and Jazmyn Sellers 16-22-3. Flannery was 13-16-1 behind the line, Boettcher 13-15-3, and Jaidyn Sellers 8-12-1.
