Panthers divide set against host Bulldogs

OGDEN, Iowa — Panorama split a WCAC set with host Ogden Tuesday, with the Panther girls crushing the home team, 77-25, while the visitors finished on the short end of a 59-55 final in the boys contest.

The Panthers (20-1, 14-0) streaked to leads of 25-5 after one quarter and of 49-7 after two against the Bulldogs (2-19, 1-14) in the opener.

Laci Rishel buried seven 3-pointers en route to 26 points while passing out 10 assists to pace the Panthers. Payton Beckman had 18 points (with four treys) with Jaidyn Sellers adding 11 points. Mia Waddle tallied nine points and Angel Poldberg and Zoey Hambleton six apiece while Jazmyn Sellers sank a free throw.

Jaidyn Sellers had seven rebounds and Beckman six to go with seven steals. Beckman is now tied for the Class 2A lead with 103 thefts.

Kaleigh Badker knocked down four triples to lead Ogden with 12 points.

Panorama (13-7, 10-4) saw a 30-26 halftime lead turned into a 45-42 deficit after three periods by Ogden (11-10, 8-8). The hosts then used a thin 14-13 edge over the final eight minutes to secure the win.

Individual statistical information from the game was not available.
