Panthers open season with sweep of Roadrunners

PANORA — The Panorama volleyball team won one WCAC match all of last season. On Tuesday they matched that total with a season-opening 3-0 win over new WCAC team Interstate-35.

The Panthers roared to a 25-11 win in game one, then scored a 25-13 victory in game two. A 25-19 triumph in the third game swept the visiting Roadrunners from the gym.

Brooke Halterman had nine kills, a block and served 10-of-11 with one ace in helping the hosts to the win. Kennedy Kuta was 15-17-1 behind the line while distributing 13 assists while Morgan Johnk was 11-12-14 with five kills.

Olivia Richey had seven aces on 16-of-20 serving while adding a kill, with Hannah Woodworth 7-9-1 while Erica Block was 6-of-7.[wpedon id=”85410″ align=”left”]

Block had three kills, Bailey Beckman two and Richey one, with Richey adding a team-high six digs. Block and Johnk had three digs apiece, with Kuta making 1.5 blocks and Halterman one.

Panorama visits Earlham Thursday before returning home Tuesday to host Ogden.
