Panthers tame host Tigers in WCAC net action

PLEASANTVILLE — Panorama improved to 4-1 overall and 4-1 in WCAC volleyball with a 3-0 sweep of Pleasantville in league play Tuesday.

The Panthers won each of the first two sets by identical 25-21 scores, with a 25-17 win in the third set ending the match. The host Tigers fell to 5-4 and 1-3 with the loss.

Panorama finished with four aces serves and was 52-of-59 (88.1 percent) behind line, but made up for those average numbers by receiving numerous kills from a variety of players.

Shey Storesund had six kills, with Jordan Douglass, Grace Richey, Audrey Cmelik, and Angel Poldberg all had three kills apiece, with Jaidyn Seller making two kills. Richey distributed 10 assists and Emma Powell six, with Sellers adding an assist.

Sellers was dominant up front on defense, finishing with 6.5 blocks. Douglass had two blocks and Cmelik one, with Poldberg having an assisted block.

Storesund led the team with five digs, with Cmelik having four. Richey and Powell had three digs apiece, and Sellers, Douglass, and Paige Cmelik two each.

Powell was 13-of-13 with three aces serving, with Paige Cmelik 11-11-1. Douglass was 11-of-12, Richey 7-of-10, Audrey Cmelik 8-of-9 and Storesund 2-of-4.

Panorama visits South Central Calhoun Tuesday, with Greene County also expected to compete.
