CARROLL, Iowa — The Perry Area Winter Swim team returned to action Saturday with a visit to Carroll for a meet that also included strong teams from Boone and Grinnell.

Against such a loaded field individual victories were few and far between for PAWS, especially considering a limited roster was in action.

Renaud Deardorff had four wins of the 9-10 boys to lead PAWS, with Tucker Carroll (15-18) also winning four times.

Others with wins on the boys side were Lyle Jacobsen (8U), Caden Larson (11-12), Collin Stringham (13-14) and Connor Larsen.

Ilana Baumert (13-14) had two victories for the PAWS girls, with Jessa Hellman (9-10) and Lilly Riley (15-18) each posting a win as well.

Despite having only a limited number of wins PAWS swimmers posted numerous state-meet qualifying times.

PAWS is considering competing Saturday at Boone and will host a meet, Feb. 5, at the McCreary Community Building pool.
