Pegasus TV 12 board, crew hold annual banquet Wednesday

The board of directors and volunteers of Pegasus TV 12 — along with a few friends and well wishers — gathered at the Hotel Pattee Wednesday night for their annual supper and year-in-review meeting.

Pegasus Board President Dan Haymond opened the proceedings be delivering the annual state of the station address. Also attending were Pegasus Board Vice President Larry Vodenik, Treasurer Jon Jamison, Secretary Doug Wood, board member Terry Schnirring and his wife, Sue Schnirring, and Pegasus TV 12 Coordinator Keith Knoll.

Friends of Pegasus who shared the feast and fellowship included Rick and Shelly Pentico, Nick Eakins and two of Pegasus’ fellow local media figures, Jim Caufield and Jeff Webster of ThePerryNews.com.

Pegasus Cable Channel 12 was founded in 1994 as a 401(c) non-profit corporation. Pegasus makes video recording and editing equipment available to anyone in the Perry Community School District free of charge. The only requirement is that this equipment must be used to make a program to be shown on Pegasus.

Funding for Pegasus is provided through a cable franchise fee paid for by Mediacom and a PEG fee charged to every Pegasus subscriber. The station’s annual budget is about $40,000.

PEGASUS stands for Public Educational Governmental Access Service for Us.

Some of the many duties of Pegasus include the recording and broadcasting of meetings of the Perry City Council, Perry Community School District Board of Directors and PHS athletics.
