Perry boys golf visits Ballard for RRC tournament

HUXLEY — The regular season ended for a rookie Perry boys golf team Monday when the Bluejays played in the Raccoon River Conference tourney.

Carroll topped ADM, 329-337, for top honors, with Boone nipping Winterset, 348-349, for third place. Bondurant-Farrar (366) was fifth, with Ballard (367), Carlisle (406) and Perry (604) also in action.

Zach Darr led Perry with a 123, with Isaac Noble shooting a 131. Sebastian Hernandez had a 146 and Brady Herman a 204 for the Bluejays.

Ballard’s Alex Bangs was the conference individual champion with a 78, with Carroll’s Tyler Tunning winning a tiebreaker with Winterset’s Gavin Mileage for second place after both shot an 80. Fourth place was decided in a tiebreaker as well after ADM’s Joe Finnegan edged teammate Adam O’Connor after the two Tigers each finished at 81.

Perry will play in a 3A Sectional at the Ames Country Club Friday.
