The students at Perry Elementary spent the last hour of their final pre-holiday school day gathering in the multi-purpose room for a Christmas sing-along.
As the entire student body is too large to occupy the room all at once, the children were divided into two sections, with representatives from each grade mixed into each group. There are currently 760 students in Perry Elementary for the 2016-17 school year, up from 724 in 2015-16.
Students were led in song by music instructors Devon Schroeder and Shaylena Bell, the former on guitar and the latter on keyboards. Clearly familiar with the selected songs, the students energetically belted out their holiday favorites, with “Jingle Bells” registering highest on the decibel level.
