The Perry Booster Club collected donations of sports drinks and accepted free will offerings at Dewey Field Friday as the Bluejay and Jayette fall sports teams, band and cheerleaders were introduced.

The Jayette netters will be the first PHS team in action, as they host a Raccoon River Conference newcomer for a volleyball match Tuesday. The Perry girls swimmers open their campaign against Algona at the McCreary Community Building pool Thursday, with the Bluejays hosting Greene County Friday for the 89th playing of the Cowbell Game.

The final teams to begin action will be the Bluejay and Jayette harriers, who visit Madrid Sept. 3 in their cross country opener.

Also introduced to the crowd were members of the Perry Blue Brigade marching band as well as the fall sports cheerleaders.

The Raccoon River Conference earlier this week announced minimum restrictions to help combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
