The Bluejays storm Dewey Field.

Recent changes to prep football have resulted in all teams automatically qualifying for the playoffs, with teams being able to choose between a five, six or seven-game regular season schedule.

Additionally, the five district games in Classes 3A-A have now all been moved forward two weeks, in effect erasing week three and four from the schedule. Schools could opt to keep their originally scheduled week one and week two games or play some combination from among their first four weeks.

Perry will open their season Aug. 28 when they host Greene County for the 89th playing of the Cowbell Game. A Sept. 4 trip to Nevada was on the original schedule, but that has been cancelled in favor of a Sept. 4 contest at Saydel, the original week three outing. Perry will not play Clarke, who was to visit Dewey Field Sept. 18.

Perry will now play district games at DC-G Sept. 11 and at Norwalk Sept. 18, with Winterset visiting Dewey Field Sept. 25 for Homecoming 2020 and Des Moines Hoover coming to Perry Oct. 2. A trip to ADM Oct. 9 will complete the regular season.
