Perry Elementary first graders brought their families to school Monday for Reading/Math Night, with activities centered on "100" as Friday is the 100th day of the school year.

Students in the first grade at Perry Elementary returned to school Monday evening, and this time parents and siblings tagged along.

The occasion? Reading and Math Night, which was held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room.

Eight tables were set up in the MPR, half centered around reading lessons and half bases on math. Students were free to move from table to table, each of which offered a different game, craft or project.

The theme for the event was ‘100.’ Students have worked on counting to, and recognizing, the number 100, all leading up to Friday, when they will celebrate the 100th day of the school year.

Teachers Jenny Adair, Crystal Andrews, Robert Benesh, Janna Bjork, Katie Hermann, Kathi Lipovac, Amanda Myers, Cindy Thompson and Janiece Thompson were on hand to visit with and help students and families, with co-principals Joel Martin and Ned Menke also in attendance.
