The first chance for the public to see the 2017 Perry football team on Dewey Field will be Thursday, when the Bluejay gridders hold at intrasquad scrimmage at 5 p.m. Admission is one (or more) sports drinks, which will be used by the team throughout the season.
Perry opens with non-district road games at North Polk August 25 and at Nevada September 1 before hosting their Class 3A District 2 and home opener September 8 against Ballard.
A visit to Boone follows on September 15, with DC-G the opponent for Homecoming September 22 while a trip to Gilbert September 29 concludes a five-game September slate.
Perry hosts Webster City October 6 and Greene County October 13 in the 86th Cowbell Game, with an October 20 trip to Iowa Falls/Alden wrapping up the regular season.
The Bluejays were 2-7 last year and 0-7 in district play. The opened the season with a 28-21 win over North Polk before topping Nevada, 21-14, the following week.
