ALTOONA — “Our girls played well, but Roosevelt played better.”

The words of Perry girls golf coach Joel Happel summed up Tuesday’s four-team meet at Terrace Hills, with the Jayettes edged for top team honors despite shooting a solid 199.

Des Moines Roosevelt was just a tad better, edging Perry by three strokes to claim first place. Carlilsle was third at 210, with host Bondurant-Farrar fourth on 222 strokes.

Senior Brooke Huntington shot a 43 to lead the Jayettes, with Alyssa Kruger carding a 48. Sarah Sweet tallied a 52 and Skylar Cunningham a 56 for Perry. Delaney Eiteman also made the rounds, but her card of 57 was not used toward the team total.

No additional information was provided.

Perry is off until Saturday, when they will make their yearly trip to the 18-hole Winterset Invitational, with play beginning at 8 a.m.
