The Perry Lions Club are celebrating their 50th year among the ranks of Perry’s civic groups, and they gave a presentation at the Perry Perk coffeehouse Friday that outlined their many worthy activities.

Lion Ray Harden was among the club’s charter members in Perry in 1973. He recalled some of the club’s highlights Friday, including the club’s peak in the 1990s at 83 members. There are many fewer Lions today, Harden said.

Lion Lou Hoger discussed the club’s current projects, including the annual Kids Sight vision screening program at Perry preschools.
