  1. If there were no injuries, why would he be taken to the hospital? And isn’t this the police officer that has been caught twice planting drugs and paraphernalia? Just asking.

    • This is how we understand the series of events on Friday night and early Saturday morning: After a short time at the police station, the arrested man began to feel unwell and was transported by ambulance to the hospital as a precaution. He was said to be sweating, shaking and having difficulty breathing, so a medical intervention was judged to be appropriate. As for your second question, we are not aware of the incidents you mention but would be interested to learn about them, if you have any evidence for them. They would obviously be serious violations of police conduct standards, and we would be very surprised to learn that any officer would continue to be employed by the city of Perry after committing them. Any evidence? Just asking.

  2. I will certainly ask the two people that accused him of this if they would be willing to tell you. I don’t want to say anything because it would just be in second-hand information. They should be the ones to talk to you, so I will see if they would be willing to do that. Hopefully, they would. We have enough trouble.

  3. I’m wondering why he was held at gunpoint. Did he show any signs of aggression to the officer? Did he display a weapon? I don’t understand the need to have him held at gunpoint.

  4. No, he went straight down on his belly on the ground with his legs and hands out away from his sides. There was no need for guns to be drawn.

  5. There was no need to pull weapons. He did exactly what they asked. He didn’t cause any problems. I don’t know, but people say that this officer Aswegan is trying to make a name for himself and don’t care how.
