CARROLL — Perfect weather and a perfect performance. Not a bad combination.
The Perry Middle School Marching Band played their way to First Place in the Carroll Band Days parade Saturday. While grades 6-8 play in the middle school band, only students in grades 7-8 perform in parades.
Judges lined the two-mile route, with bands scored on how well the played and marched. Perry performed the Perry Fight Song and “My Sharona” a popular song from The Knack that received constant airplay in 1979.
The Perry Middle School Marching Band is under the direction of Lisa Christensen.
