Perry middle school boys host Turner Relays

The John Turner Relays were held at Kaufman Track Monday, allowing the Perry middle school boys thinclads a final chance to compete at home this season.

The seventh grade team placed in one individual event at the unscored meet when Jordan Ochoa crossed fifth in the 1600 in 5 minutes, 37.44 seconds.

The grade 7 medley relay team was second in 4:49.82, with both the sprint medley (2:14.15) and 4×200 (2:12.76) quartets placing fifth.

Ever Tobar was first and Tyler Fessler second in the eighth grade 200 in 25.74 and 26.13 seconds, respectively, with Kato Dougan second in the 100 (13.15) while Marvin Sarceno finished second in the 400 (1:00.96). Other individual event placings went to Dougan and Sarceno, who were third (in 2:32.51) and fourth (in 2:32.58) in the 800.

Perry’s eighth graders were second in six of the seven relays. The Bluejays finished as runner-ups in the 4×100 (52.14), 4×200 (1:52.18), 4×400 (4:07.89), 4×800 (10.08.73), sprint medley (1:56.78) and 1600 medley (4:16.49). The Jays were fifth in the shuttle hurdle (1:26.87).

Relay team members were not provided.
