Optimist Clark Wicks, center, with the Optimist Club Creed standard in hand, closes the Perry Optimist Club meeting with a monthly challenge for members.

The Optimist Club of Perry welcomed three new members to their ranks at the group’s November meeting Wednesday evening.

Receiving membership certificates and packets were Tari Mason, owner of the Perry Perk coffeehouse, Paige Nagle, assistant director of nursing at the Perry Lutheran Home, and Lisa Widick, publisher with the Perry Chief.

About half the club’s 30-person membership attended.

Optimist Clark Wicks closed the meeting with a monthly challenge for members. Wicks asked members silently to choose one point from the 10-point Optimist Club Creed and take it to heart as something to strive for until the next meeting.
