  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department found “that the two front doors had been propped open” at the Perry High School. Officers “made entrance” and “found the building to be clear, so they secured the doors.” Contact was made with the keyholder, who “was unsure of why the doors would be propped open.”
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department “was flagged down” by someone who told “him that his daughter had been carjacked.” The officer accompanied the woman to her residence, where he learned that the woman “deals with dementia,” and her caregivers “were unaware that she got out.”
  • Michael Scott Schmitz, 31, 2625 Warford St., Perry, was arrested on a Dallas County warrant for revocation of pretrial release on original charges of disarming a peace officer and two counts of assault on persons in certain occupations.
  • A caller said she was “having landlord issues” after her landlord “changed the locks and is trying to keep the washer and dryer that she purchased” and also a refrigerator. An officer responded.
  • A caller reported “a possible intoxicated male walking on County Road P58 headed towards town.” An officer was advised, and the Dallas County Sheriff’s office was notified. The sheriff’s office “requested an officer to respond until a deputy could arrive out there.” The officer responded, located the walker and “waited for county to respond.”
  • A caller said “thereĀ  were multiple kids on the pond.” An officer “responded and spoke with multiple children and parents in regards to the situation.”
  • Karen Yojana Posadas Perez, 29, 1416 Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on charges of driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A caller said “her mom and her step-dad have been fighting,” including “pushing each other and calling each other bad names.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said two boys were “kicking around a ball” and “going into people’s yards” and said they “hit a vehicle’s windshield.” An officer responded but did not find the boys with the ball and did not observe “indications of any kind of damage to vehicles parked in the area.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
