  • A caller said “she came in a couple of days ago regarding a phone her boyfriend kept,” and “now she has questions about the property that she bought. She wants it back.” The caller “said she bought it off a lady with her tax return money.” An officer responded and “advised her the best thing is to speak with a lawyer.”
  • A caller reported “an abandoned vehicle” on First Avenue that “was on the roadway.” An officer responded but did not find an abandoned vehicle.
  • A patrolling offcer of the Perry Police Department encountered a dog running at large. The animal was transported to the Perry Animal Holding Facility.
  • The Perry Police Department School Resource Officer requested an officer attempt to make contact with a student who “should be in school, but he is not.” Officers responded, and an officer “transported the juvenile to the high school.”
  • A caller said “that her father’s child was supposed to drop their daughter at” a local retail store, “but he has not done so. Last she knew he was going to take her to Michigan without her consent.” An officer responded and “advised her to get a lawyer about the custody issues.”
  • Six wireless 911 calls were received from the same location. An officer responded and located a child with a phone. The officer made contact with an adult “who only spoke Spanish.” The officer “advised him of the many calls” and “advised him to be more careful.” There was no emergency.
  • Officers of the Perry Police Department “responded to the elementary to donate jackets for the children.”
  • A caller “requested an officer meet with her” in order to “get some property.” An officer “responded and assisted.”
  • An off-duty officer of the Perry Police Department called and said “he was behind” a vehicle “that he had previously stopped for the driver not having a driver’s license.” The caller said “the vehicle is doing 85 mph,” and “he believes he hit 100 mph before turning” and “almost hitting some cars.” An officer responded but did not locate the vehicle.
  • A woman entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and “reported her passport lost.” The woman “requested a call for service to obtain a new one.” An officer responded.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and reported “suspicious activity” around a truck in the ditch in Boone County. The man said he “saw a few males getting into another truck and leaving.” Shortly afterward, a man “came into the station to report his truck stolen from his job.” An officer and a Boone Count Deputy Sheriff responded and located the vehicle. Officers “processed the vehicle for fingerprints, photographs and collected baby wipes at the scene.”
  • A caller said “she rented a city dumpster, and it was near her garage, and a male” passerby told her “it wasn’t legal to go through dumpsters.” An officer responded and “suggested she move the dumpster out of the alley and more towards her property so people don’t think it’s a city dumpster.” The officer “also tried to make contact with” the male, but “the property was vacant” where records showed he lived.
  • A caller said “her ex is texting her,” and “she wanted to place a restraining order against him.” An officer responded and made contact with the ex, who “said he was just trying to tell her she needed to get her things out of the house.”
  • A caller “requested a welfare check on his mom.” The called said he “hasn’t spoken to her for a while and is worried.” An officer responded and made contact with the mother, “who was okay.” The caller was informed.
  • Larry Ray Nelson, 80, 207 S. First Ave., Dawson, was arrested on a charge of first-offense OWI.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
