  • A caller said “there were two young children between 5 and 7 years of age at W. Third Street lying in the middle of the street.” The caller said “she was concerned about someone coming around the corner and striking them.” She said she “advised the children to get out of the road but thought an officer should speak to them about safety issues.” An officer responded and “spoke with several kids about the safety reason for not lying in the street.”
  • A caller reported “a lady in purple running with her German shepherd again that was not on a leash.” An officer responded but did not find the woman running with the loose dog.
  • A man entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. in order “to report his property missing.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone “he was allowing to live in his basement” had “snuck in his room” while the caller was sleeping and “pinned his arm behind his back.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said someone left a telephone message claiming the caller “has a warrant for his arrest out of Alabama.” An officer responded and determined “that the message sounded fake.” The officer advised the caller “to call the U.S. Internal Revenue Service information line and advise them what the message consisted of.”
  • A caller asked whether an officer of the Perry Police Department would respond to his residence and “look at a letter they received in the mail that they don’t understand.” An officer responded, examined the letter and informed the caller “that the letter was from small claims court and advised them to contact the clerk of court for any questions.”
  • A 911 caller said “he had given a small child an old phone to play with and didn’t realize it could still call 911.” An officer responded and “confirmed everything was okay.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
