June 5, 2019

  • A 2002 Ford F-150, registered to and driven by Wade Longhenry of Ogden, collided with a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan Hero, registered to and driven by Alice Miskimins, 2013 Second St., Perry, near First Avenue and Iowa Highway 141. A citation was issued to Miskimins for failure to stop in assured safe distance.
  • A bicycle ridden by Muhamed Husslen Alhamed of 2902 Iowa St., Perry, was struck by a 2017 Ford Focus driven by Juventino Corona Diaz of 516 Pine St., Perry, at the intersection of Eighth and Iowa streets. Alhamed, traveling westbound on Iowa Street, did not see Diaz, traveling southbound on Eighth Street, and entered the intersection. Alhamed was struck by Diaz’s vehicle, landing on the windshield of the vehicle and traveling airborne over the top of the vehicle. Alhamed suffered lacerations to his head and two large lacerations to his back and was transported to the Dallas County Hospital. Diaz suffered minor lacerations to his hands as a result of glass from the shattered windshield. Damage to Diaz’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000. Dlaz was issued a citation for no valid driver’s license, and Alhamed was issued a citation for failure to yield upon entering an intersection.

June 6, 2019

  • Officers responded to a reported theft in the 1700 block of Willis Avenue. The loss was estimated at $350.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
