May 17, 2019

  • A caller reported possible criminal mischief in the 1300 block of W. Second Street. Damage to an exterior window was found.
  • A caller reported attempted fraud by a male who called her grandma. She knew it was a scam and did not provide any information.

May 18, 2019

  • A caller reported fireworks in the 400 block of Third Street.
  • A collision occurred at the intersection of Third Street and Otley Avenue when a 2007 Chrysler van, registered to and driven by Pamela Haakma of 803 Third St., Perry, collided with a 2007 Kia Van, registered to and driven by Carlos Mayorga Rodriguez of 1405 Otley Ave., Perry. No injuries were reported. Haakma was issued a citation for failure to obey a stop sign, and Rodriguez was issued a citation for no driver’s license.
  • A caller reported the destruction of property in the 1300 block of 30th Street. It appeared a mailbox was damaged when a vehicle jumped the curve.
  • A collision occurred in the parking lot of a local retail store when a 2006 Nissan Murano, registered to Jason Ohnemus of 729 William St., Perry, and driven by Carrie Barnett of Urbandale, collided with a 2016 Jeep, registered to Tiana Ford of rural Perry and driven by Joseph Ford of Urbandale. No injuries were reported.
  • A caller reported the theft of a skateboard from 1811 Evelyn St.
  • A caller reported harassment in the 2600 block of Willis Avenue.
  • Matthew Corrigan, 27, 16762 Killaren Dr., Perry, was arrested on a charge of first-offense OWI.

May 19, 2019

  • The Perry Volunteer Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire at 19217 150th St. near Perry.
  • Kimber Scot Davenport, 58, of Pueblo West, Colo., was arrested on a Polk County warrant for third-degree harassment.
  • Emily Lee Havmond, 29, 818 William St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving under suspension.

May 20, 2019

  • A caller reported her vehicle was taken sometime over night from the 1000 block of Park Street. The caller called a short time later and said the vehicle had been returned.
  • A caller reported damage to a mailbox in the 1300 block of 30th Street.
  • A caller reported damage to the light pole plug at the Pattee Park campground. The Perry Parks and Recreation Department was notified.

May 21, 2019

  • Rick Allen Thielen, 54, of Bouton was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
  • A collision occurred at the intersection of 18th Street and Willis Avenue when a 2006 Cadillac, registered to and driven by Charles John Smith of 2115 First Ave. Perry, collided with a 2019 Ford pickup, registered to and driven by Ricardo Astulias Castillo of 1212 Fifth St. No injuries were reported. Damage to Smith’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000, and damage to Castillo’s vehicle was estimated at $4,000. Smith was issued a citation for failure to obey a stop sign.
  • A report of a dog bite was taken at the Dallas County Hospital. The bite reportedly occurred in the 600 block of Fifth Street.
  • A caller reported a dog bite in the 1700 block of Southgate Drive.
