October 10, 2016

  • A caller said he was involved in an automobile accident. An officer responded but was unable to locate the caller or the vehicle. Investigation revealed the caller “was calling from Pella and had dialed Perry on accident.”
  • A caller said she found a credit card. An officer responded.
  • A caller said a “patient” “took half a bottle of Stacker 2 pills, which are energy dieting pills.” Officers responded. The Dallas County EMS was paged.
  • A 911 caller said “they locked their child in a car in Des Moines.” The caller was transferred to the Polk County Sheriff’s office.
  • A caller reported “a cat with a tin can over its head, and it was stuck.” An officer responded, “retrieved some tools” and “was able to get the can off the cat’s head.”
  • A caller reported vandalism to a picnic table in Pattee Park. The caller said “across the table are three words, with one being profane.” An officer responded.
  • A patrolling officer of the Perry Police Department observed someone “changing oil over a storm drain.” The officer warned the person “not to dispose of anything in the drain, or there would be consequences.”
  • A caller said she caught a dog running at large. She said she “will take the dog to the vet to see if it’s chipped” and “will keep the dog at her residence for now.” The Humane Society of Perry was notified. A second caller reported a missing dog matching the description of the dog running at large.
  • A caller said she found a billfold. An officer responded.
  • An off-duty Greene County Deputy Sheriff “observed a person throw a Keystone Light can out of the window” of a vehicle. An officer responded but did not find the vehicle.
  • A caller said she caught a cat running at large. An officer responded and transported the animal to the Perry Animal Holding facility. The Humane Society of Perry was notified.

October 11, 2016

  • A caller asked whether an officer of the Perry Police Department could help “with her 14-year-old son who is refusing to go to school.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said her grandson “has been living with her the past two months. She does not want him there as he is causing problems. He refuses to move back to his mom’s house because his mom does not have internet and cable.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said his “puppy got loose.”
  • Alicia Dawn Foland, 35, 2016 Estella St., Perry, was arrested on a charge of driving while suspended. She was also issued a citation for no insurance.
  • A caller said “someone had dumped two trash bags of butchered hog remains in a ditch.” The Dallas County Sheriff’s office was alerted.
  • A caller said her dog was missing. She later caller again and said her dog was found.
  • A juvenile entered the offices of the Perry Police Department at 908 Willis Ave. and said his cellular telephone was stolen. An officer responded.
  • A caller said a dog was running at large. An officer responded but did not find the dog.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
