Des Moines Hoover and Des Moines North were both guests of the Perry girls swim team Thursday, with the host Jayettes claiming team wins over both guests.

The double-dual format calls for each team to be individual scored against each opponent. When points were tabulated, Perry owned wins of 49-37 over Hoover and of 59-26 over North, with Hoover besting North, 67-27.

Perry won all three relays and all eight individual events. In addition, the Jayettes also had the second-place finisher in the three individual races in which the hosts had more than one entrant.

The home team was without Jaylene Karolus (running for the Jayette cross country team) and Rhylan Agan.

The quartet of Gracie Phillips, Amanda Holwegner, Sophia McDevitt and Zoe Hibbert won the 200 medley in 2 minutes, 13.61 seconds, with Hibbert, Holwegner, McDevitt and Jenna Nelson winning the 200 free relay in 2:02.11 while the foursome of Nelson, Phillips, Holwegner and Emily Dowd touched first, in 4:52.65, in the 400 free relay.

Nelson was first (2:29.79) and Dowd second (2:33.87) in the 200 free, the former cutting 1.87 seconds and the latter 9.13 off previous personal bests.

Hibbert and Nelson were 1-2 in the 100 free (in 1:05.37 and 1:10.22), with Nelson setting a new PB by .78 ticks. Hibbert and Phillips teamed for a 1-2 finish in the 50 free, in 28.71 and 30.84, respectively, the latter improving her PB by .79 seconds.

McDevitt was first to the wall in the 100 butterfly (1:07.14) and 200 individual medley (2:27.33), with Dowd claiming the 500 free (7:05.53) in her first varsity try at the event.

Phillips took nearly a second off her previous individual best in the 100 backstroke by finishing in 1:15.54, with fellow Panorama swimmer (competing for Perry in a sharing agreement) Holwegner first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:24.74.

Perry hosts Algona and Boone Tuesday for a double dual, with the team traveling back to Indianola Thursday.
