Ron Leber, commander of Perry’s Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2060, recently expressed the gratitude of the local VFW toward Perry’s Burger King by saying thanks for the Burger King Corporate donations of $4.2 million to Veterans Unmet Needs program.

For 11 years running, Burger King restaurants nationwide have raised funds annually for the VFW Unmet Needs program, with patrons encouraged to donate $1 or more upon checkout.

The Unmet Needs program helps service members and military families during times of financial hardship by providing monetary assistance toward basic life necessities such as rent, mortgage and utility payments, vehicle repair, medical expenses and food.

“Grants from the Unmet Needs program aid struggling service members, veterans and their families,” Leber said. “We thank Burger King for their continued support of those who have served.”

Leber was himself served at the Perry Burger King by Genia Medina and Liz McKee, clerks at the local fast food outlet.
