The IGHSAU recently released the postseason volleyball brackets, with Perry beginning play Oct. 26 and Woodward-Granger Oct. 27. Both will have to defeat the defending state champions in their respective classes in order to advance to the state tournament.
Perry will face host DC-G in a Class 4A Region 2 First Round match on Oct. 26, with the winner moving on to face host and defending 4A champion Harlan Oct. 29. Winterset will battle Des Moines Hoover in the other first round bout, with Bondurant-Farrar to host that winner. The Regional Final will be played Nov. 3 in Guthrie Center.
W-G received a bye and will face the Oct. 20 winner of the Madrid at Ogden match on Oct. 27 in Woodward. The BCLUW vs. South Hardin winner will face host Grundy Center in the other quarterfinal in the bottom half of the Class 2A Region 5 bracket. If W-G advances, they will play one of those three teams Oct. 30 in Marshalltown.
The Regional Final will be held in Parkersburg Nov. 4. Defending 2A state title winner Dike-New Hartford, West Fork, Hudson, Eagle Grove, Fort Dodge St. Edmond and South Hamilton comprise the top half of the bracket.
